Enid, OK — The funeral for Pearl Johnston, 82, of Newton, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Kingdom Life Ministries, Hesston, Kan. Pastor Scott Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Hesston Cemetery. Arrangements are by Miller Funeral Home, Hesston. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born June 22, 1927, in Buhler, Kan., to Arthur and Agatha Siemens Froese and died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Newton Medical Center.

She was raised in Buhler. She lived in Hesston from 1962 to 1998, when she moved to Newton. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Life Ministries, Hesston.

She married Willard Schrag May 5, 1949. He died Feb. 14, 1955. She later married Alvin Johnston April 27, 1962.

Surviving are her husband, Alvin; eight children, Steve Johnston of Enid, Tom Johnston of LaVita, Colo., Roger Johnston of Denton, Texas, Richard Johnston of Newton, Kathy Sears of Killeen, Texas, Karen Terry of Grapevine, Texas, Lisa Milburn of Arlington, Texas, and Jan Stucky of Newton; one brother, Harold Froese of Inman, Kan.; two sisters, Clara Ediger of Buhler and Marilyn Lohrentz of Minneapolis, Minn.; 28 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, Willard, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
