Enid, OK — The funeral for Robbie C. Abston Stowe, 94, formerly of Woodward, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Billings Funeral Home Chapel, Woodward. Grady D. King Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward.
She was born July 21, 1915, in Willow Grove, Tenn., to Tommie and Ella Edens Abston and died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Autumn Care and Rehabil-itation Center, Statesville, N.C.
She moved with her family to Sentinel in 1929.
She married William Herschell Stowe Dec. 9, 1936, in Hobart. They moved to Woodward in December 1939. She worked 26 years in the retail business, retiring from Frost’s Department Store. Following retirement, she was an auxiliary volunteer for Woodward Hospital. She was a member of Fifth Street Church of Christ and later Northview Church of Christ in Statesville.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Bass of Statesville; one son, Tommy Stowe of Las Vegas; one stepson, Freddie Joe Stowe of Warren; two sisters, Beatrice Nielson of Oregon and Gladys King of Edmond; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, three brothers and two sisters.
