The funeral for Larry Shannon Platt, 64, of Ponca City, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Northeast Baptist Church, Ponca City. The Rev. Larry Nigh will officiate. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery, Okeene. Arrangements are by Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born April 3, 1945, in Lucien to William Star and Francis “Myrtle” May Cannady Platt and died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville.
He attended school in Lucien, Hayward and Perry. He graduated from Covington High School. He was a Boy Scout and received the Eagle Award and Good Country Award.
He married Darlene Martin in 1964. He worked in grocery stores in Enid and Ponca City and was a route salesman for Frito Lay for 26 years, retiring in 2006.
He married Pamela Jo McKee Sept. 20, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Theron Platt, Denise Saylor and William “Bill” Platt; one brother, Loren Platt; and five grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
