A vigil service for Grace Elizabeth Vierthaler, 82, of Sharon, will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa, Kan.
She was born April 24, 1927, in Zenda, Kan., to Louis J. and Matilda M. Burns Dick and died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009.
She was a graduate of Zenda High School.
She married Sylvester C. Vierthaler Aug. 25, 1948, in Zenda. She lived in Sharon all her adult life before moving to Clearwater, Kan., five years ago.
She was a homemaker and worked at Hern’s Grocery in Sharon, as well as Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are one son, Gary of Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter, Janice Milledge of Clearwater; three brothers, Wayne Dick of Zenda, Ralph Dick of Isabel, Kan., and Walter Dick of Dunfries, Va.; two sisters, Beatrice Ricke of Willowdale, Kan., and Virginia Parker of Maple Hill, Kan.; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Care of Kansas or St. Boniface Catholic Chur-ch.
