The graveside service for Jerry Lee Puffinbarger, 75, of Cherokee, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in Byron-Amorita Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Cooksey will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. The casket will be open from 3-6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born June 23, 1934, in Amorita to Arthur and Esther Cox Puffinbarger and died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at his home.
He graduated from Amorita High School.
He married Phyllis Ricker in 1955, in Cherokee. They made their home in Cherokee before moving to Byron. They returned to Cherokee in 1980, where he worked as a roofer and bailed hay and combining. He also ran cattle.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; three children, Edward Puffinbarger, Lloyd Puffinbarger and Tammy Puffinbarger; four sisters, Joann Coday, Betty Boyle, Martha Bowers and Mary McPherson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
