Enid, OK — The funeral for Iona “Marie” Sissons, 53, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Wade Burleson and Wayne Sissons will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born May 11, 1956, in Prague to William and Mossie Iona Gilliam Sissons and died Wednes-day, Nov. 11, 2009, in Enid.
She attended school at Meeker and Woodward and graduated from Enid High School in 1975. She studied nursing at Autry Techno-logy Center and later attended High Plains Vo-Tech in Woodward.
She worked at Wood-ward Hospital. She moved back to Enid in March 1995, where she worked at Payless Shoes. She worked at StarTek at her death.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she participated in the women’s Tuesday Bible study.
Surviving are four brothers, Donald Sissons of Mobile, Ala., James Sissons of Coyle, Leonard Sissons of Midwest City and Franklin Sissons of Duncan; three sisters, Stella Moser of Woodward, Loretta Wanzer of Enid and Edith Huckaby of Buffalo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Resear-ch Foundation, cancer division, or Baptist Foundation.
