A private family memorial service and scattering of cremains of Philip Dean Donnel, 73, of Gate, will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Myatt Funeral Home, Laverne.
He was born July 11, 1936, in Topeka, Kan., to James Philip and Mary Catherine Gillette Donnel and died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his home.
He attended Fort Collins, Colo., schools. He worked for an oil refinery before retiring. He was a member of Gate city council.
He married Myrna Marie Trullinger Aug. 26, 1988.
Surviving are his wife, Myrna, of the home; two sons, Chuck Trullinger of Arizona and Gary Trullinger of North Carolina; three daughters, Jean Ann Donnel and Michelle Donnel, both of Aurora, Colo., and Carmen Gohm of Achworth, Ga.; two brothers, James Donnel of Windsor, Colo., and Delbert Donnel of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to a charity of donor’s choice.
