Enid, OK — The funeral for Marie May Schmidt, 83, of Goltry, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Pleasant View Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Goltry. Patrick Koehn will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, east of Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
She was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Canton, Kan., to Tobias and Carrie Boese and died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center, Enid.
She married Ivan Schmidt in Eldorado, Kan., in 1948. She had lived in the Goltry area all of her married life.
Surviving are her husband, Ivan, of Goltry; one daughter, Shirley Hensley of Enid, and one brother, Sam Boese of Dodge City, Kan.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
