Enid, OK — The funeral for Danny Ray Campbell, 58, of Covington, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lesly Broadbent will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Army and Masonic graveside rites conducted by Masonic Lodge 80.

He was born Feb. 21, 1951, in Borger, Texas, to James William and Helen Lucille Posey Campbell and died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He enlisted in the Army in 1971. He served during the Vietnam War, where he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Expert Badge with the M-16. He was honorably discharged July 19, 1973.

He married Mavis L. Scriven July 22, 1976, in Enid. He worked for Goodyear in Carolina before moving to Enid, where he started his career with Northrop, then DynCorp and currently CSC at Vance Air Force Base. He worked in the sheet metal shop and was lead in the maintenance operation center. He was a Boy Scout assistant scoutmaster for Troop 6, lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Covington American Legion, Enid Masonic Lodge 80 and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Surviving are his wife, Mavis, of the home; one son, Billy Campbell of Hominy; his mother, Helen Chisum of Enid; two sisters, Ginger Hicks of Blanchard and Debra Seely of Wichita, Kan.; four brothers, Glen Lewis Campbell of Enid, Clark Campbell of Wichita, James Campbell of Lake City and Howard Dwayne Campbell of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his father.
