The funeral for Laura Jane Jones, 79, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Alva First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ron Pingelton and Greg Hook will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
She was born Aug. 10, 1930, on a farm near Avard to Elbert and Bettie Taul Morris and died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, in Alva.
She was a 1948 graduate of Waynoka High School.
She married Donald Achemire Aug. 16, 1948. He died in 1952. She later married Harold Jones Nov. 8, 1952, in Clayton, N.M.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church and Gleaner Sunday school class. She also was a member of Jolly Housewives Home Extension Club.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Nusser of Alva; one son, Roy Don Achemire of Okmulgee; three sisters, Geneva Smith, Verna Davidson and LaEtta Phillips, all of Waynoka; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald, one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Bailey Rhodes Medical Fund to help with expenses.
