The funeral for Raymond Frederic Weis, 82, of Higgins, Texas, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at United Methodist Church, Higgins. The Rev. Curtis Bently will officiate. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home, Shattuck.
He was born May 8, 1927, in Higgins to Johnny and Nellie Gray Weis and died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
He attended the University of Texas before enlisting in the Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to college in Stillwater.
He married Jean Bergquist March 8, 1949, in Fargo, N.D. He was a lifelong resident of Lipscomb County and Higgins Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jean, of the home in Higgins; three daughters, Joanne Watson of Higgins, Cary Nell Huff of Shawnee and Nannette Ashley of Amarillo, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
