Enid, OK — The funeral for Allen Dean Ryel, 81, of Enid, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Star Cemetery, Aline. Visitation with the family will be 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Cleo Springs to Lee Henry and Martha Aldena “Dena” Griffith Ryel, and died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Enid.

He attended Ruby grade school and graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1947.

He married Virginia Melrose March 6, 1949, in Tulsa. They moved to Enid in 1959. He worked as a brake and front end mechanic at Firestone in Enid, Howard Way in Fairview and Jackie Cooper in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1990, moving back to Enid.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia, of the home; two sons, Tom Ryel of Enid and Allen Ray Ryel of El Reno; one daughter, Sandra Baker of Cleburne, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, diabetes division.
