The funeral for Henry Samersow, 80, of Woodward, will be 2 p.m. today, November 1, 2009, at Billings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charlie Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with military rites by the Army.
He was born March 1, 1929, near Riga, Latvia, and died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in Woodward.
He came to the United States and trained in the art of meat cutting. He was a skilled butcher and worked in the industry for 40 years. He worked for Ideal Grocery Stores and managed their meat markets in several stores across Oklahoma.
He married Roberta Hundorf June 15, 1969, in Woodward. She died July 6, 1993. They made their home in Woodward.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Orphi Grunwald of Woodward and Georgia Taylor of Georgia; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
