Enid, OK — The funeral for Norman Leslie Sewell, 43, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas. Visitation with family will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A register book locally is available at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1966, in Dallas to Larry and Tillie Rivera Sewell and died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.
He was raised in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1985. He was a wide receiver for the 1983 Enid High 5A state championship football team and held the high jump record at Waller Junior High School for many years. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a journalism and mass communications degree.
He coached league baseball for two years, organized and played in two men’s softball and organized and coached pee-wee arena football. He was a member of OU Club of Dallas.
Surviving are his wife, Sue of Allen; two sons, Preston Lawrence Sewell and Norman Landry Sewell, both of Allen; father, Larry Sewell of Dallas; mother, Tillie Rivera Sewell of Enid; and sister, Sonya Ing of Dallas.
