Evelyn Perkins

Evelyn Perkins, age 70, of Neosho, MO, passed on shortly after midnight Saturday, October 18, 2008, at her home. Evelyn was born September 19, 1938, in Enid, OK, the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Decker) Hebinck.

She attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Enid. Evelyn was employed as a civil servant by the Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK, for 16 years. She owned and operated Evelyn’s Errand Service for several years thereafter in Enid. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho.

Evelyn married Samuel Perkins April 20, 1956, in Enid, OK. He preceded her in death October 14, 2007. Fifty-one years in this life, now, home together for always. “Every ending is a new beginning.”

Survivors include three sons, William, Kenneth and Carl Perkins; one daughter, Carla Hermanski; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel, Joplin. Joshua Hedger, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Justice Perkins, Stephen Perkins, Isaiah Perkins, Spencer Perkins, Caleb Perkins and Jordan Hermanski. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Evelyn was a committed Christian, always striving to practice Philippians 4:8 with all her heart. “Whatsoever things are good, think on these things.”

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel, Joplin, MO.
