The funeral for Juanita M. Ellis, 71, of Knoxville, Tenn., will be 2 p.m. today at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. The Rev. Jerald Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery.

She was born July 5, 1936, in Protection, Kan., to Harvey and Vera Knabe Kinchloe and died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

She attended school in Cheney, Kan. She married Edward Denver Ellis in 1958, in Washington. They made their home in Virginia Beach, Va. He was in the Navy, and they also lived in Spain, Japan and Germany.

Surviving are one son, Darren, and one granddaughter, all of Knoxville, Tenn.
