Kenneth R. Glass Sr.

ENID, Okla. — DUE TO WEATHER, PLEASE NOTE THE PLACE HAS CHANGED.

Funeral for Kenneth R. Glass Sr., 79-year-old former Fairmont resident, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tommy Donaldson will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born March 24, 1933, in Wakeeney, Kan., to Roland and LoRea (Rountree) Glass and died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Arbor House Assisted Living in Mustang, Okla.

He attended Ellis schools and graduated from Ellis High School with the class of 1950. After graduation, he served as a paratrooper with the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg.

While on leave in Charlotte, N.C., he met his future wife. On April 23, 1955, he married Corneila Ann Wooten in Charlotte. The couple made their first home in Wilson Creek, Colo.

Kenneth was in the oil business all of his life and the family lived in North Carolina and Texas before settling in Fairmont, Okla., in 1979.

The couple moved to Mustang in 2012 to be closer to family.

After Kenneth’s retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle and roping. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time with his family at their cabin in Colorado. He was a Mason and a long-time member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; daughter, Kay Clawson and husband Randy of Mustang; son, Kenny Glass Jr. and wife Terri of Perry; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bird, Stephanie Clawson and Brandon Reinhardt; three great-grandchildren, Seth Clawson and Kara and Carsten Bird; also one brother, Kirk Glass and wife Sandy of Fort Payne, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sharon Rickett.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF, Alzheimer’s division, or Bethlehem Baptist Church.
