ENID, Okla. — Alice Dean Newman, 92, of Lamont, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012, in Blackwell Regional Hospital, Blackwell, OK. She was born November 25, 1919, in Lamont, OK, to John Henry and Hattie Amelia (Muegge) Mann.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Lamont, OK, with Pastor Vera Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Lamont Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa, OK.

Alice enjoyed gardening, crafts, crocheting (she was crocheting a baby blanket for her next great-grandchild) and spent many hours canning. Her greatest love was her nursing, taking care of the “old” people in the nursing home; she retired at age 90. She loved cooking and having family around her.

Alice married Audry M. Newman October 17, 1937, in Guthrie, OK, celebrating 61 years of marriage before his death in 1998.

Alice is survived by son, Donald V. Newman and his wife, Carole, of Deer Creek; her daughters, Carlan Kindred and her husband, Richard, of Blackwell, Bobbie Walenciak and her husband, George, of Stillwater; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Robertson; her brothers, Lewis, Larkin, Bill and Gilbert Mann; a sister, Annabelle Lutes.

Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
