ENID, Okla. —
Memorial service for Gene V. Lucas, 85, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Thomas House and Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating.
A private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Gene was born to V. Eugene and Nancy “Nannie” (Dobson) Lucas on April 30, 1927, in Weatherford, Okla., and passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in Enid.
Gene led an exciting life, learning the cowboy life from Oklahoma to Montana. He later joined the U.S. Marines and then served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Alaska.
This is where he learned highway and runway construction, Bering Sea survival and outdoor living.
On Sept. 14, 1952, he married Betty Jo Gann at Woodward Christian Church.
Gene later built highways and runways in Oklahoma before forming L&L Transports Inc., which he operated for 55 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s and Redeemer Lutheran churches, serving as an elder at both.
Gene is survived by wife, Jo of the home; four sons, Mark Lucas and wife Elsie of Lake Dallas, Texas, Bret Lucas of Enid, Patrick Lucas and wife Joleta of Fairmont, and Kelly Lucas of Ardmore; four grandchildren, April Moller and husband Ron, and their daughter Allison, all of Mesa, Ariz., Paul Lucas of Denton, Texas, and Matthew Lucas and wife Jennifer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Flo Crites and husband James of Merced, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan and Woody; sister, Myrna Montoy; and grandson, Jeremiah Ross Lucas.
Memorials are to Redeemer Lutheran Building Fund or O.M.R.F., Alzheimer division.

Floyd 'Ty' Lytle II
A memorial service for Floyd “Ty” Wayne Lytle II, age 53, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Addison (JR) Ools officiating.
Ty was born to Kenneth Wayne and Mary Bess (Spencer) Lytle on May 22, 1960, in North Kansas City, Mo., and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home in Enid. -
Douglas Lloyd Champlin
Douglas Lloyd Champlin of Gardnerville, Nev., died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a brief illness of cancer. He was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Enid, Okla., to Joe Noble and Jane Edwards Champlin.
He is survived by his wife, Laurel Raether Champlin; daughter, Christa Hampton and husband Cobey of Cave Creek, Ariz.; daughter, Claire Woolsey and husband Cole of Reno, Nev., and Cassidy Champlin of the home; six grandchildren; sister, Joanna M. Champlin and husband Shawnee Brittan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends all over the world.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, H.H. “Bud” Champlin, formerly of Enid, Okla.
As a young boy growing up in Enid, Okla., Doug developed a love for history and the military. He became a collector at a young age of toy soldiers, guns, and just about anything he could get his hands on related to history. -
Harold H. Jantzen
The graveside service for Harold H. Jantzen, 80-year-old Newton, Kan., resident will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2013, in the West New Hopedale cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The Rev James Suderman will officiate.
Harold was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Bessie, Okla., to Henry K. and Frieda (Froese) Jantzen and died Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Newton, Kan. After graduating high school he attended Grace Bible Intitute and the Bethel College. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he obtained his master’s degree. He then earned a specialist’s degree from Emporia College. -

Memorial service for James M. Dillard, 61, Pilot Oak, Ky., will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Byrn Funeral Home Chapel, Mayfield, Ky. Abe Leonard will officiate.
James was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Fairview and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home.
Surviving are two daughters, Margo (Chris) Kesinger of Tonkawa, and Francine (Sheldon) Wedel of Pilot Oak; one sister, Judy Dillard of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. -

Evie was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Mott, N.D., to Joe and Anna (Mayer) Miller and died May 21, 2013 in Enid.
She is survived by sons, Ivan, Sherlem, and Allan Zimbelman; daughters, Sharon Woods and Shelley Rauh; brothers, Harvey Miller and Dennis Miller; and one grandson, J.R. Zimbelman. -
