Ruby was born Feb. 16, 1924, near Longdale to Chris C. Keeton and Jessie Jurey Keeton and passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Parks Edge Nursing Home in Tulsa.
She grew up on a farm near Longdale and graduated from Longdale High School in 1941. Ruby had many fond memories of playing basketball during her high school years.
She married Monzy B. Reininger Oct. 18, 1945. The couple made their home in Enid, where they managed the public swimming area at Lake Hellums during the day and a skating rink at night. They worked seven days a week and often said that peanut butter was the only thing that they had time to eat.
From there they moved to Stillwater, where Monzy trained to be a finish carpenter. The couple moved to Tulsa in 1950, where Ruby made her life as a homemaker and a devoted mother to their sons.
Monzy passed away in 1971, and Ruby then became the office manager for Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, where she worked for 17 years, until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Don Reininger; daughter-in-law, Linda Reininger of Tulsa; grandsons, Dustin Reininger, Chris Dale, Casey Reininger, Brett Weber of Oklahoma City, Beau Weber of Leesville, La., Shelly Kerezman of Arlington, Texas, and great-grandson, Taylor Reininger, all of Tulsa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monzy Reininger; son, Rick Reininger; granddaughter, Becky Reininger Maynard; and sister, Martha Keeton Arnold.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice through the funeral home.
