ENID, Okla. —
Funeral for William G. “Bill” Foster, 86, of Nash, Okla., will be 10 a.m. today, Jan. 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Nash. Rev. Sam Farris and Rev. Bob Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Bill was born June 3, 1926, south of Nash to Gertrude (Bailey) and Glen Foster and passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was a 1944 graduate of Nash High School.
Upon graduation, he joined the Coast Guard through the Maritime Service, where he served 18 months on four ships in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean during World War II. After the war, he came home to find and marry the love of his life, Billie Louise McIntosh. They were married Oct. 10, 1948, and were blessed with three daughters, Deborah, Diana and Denise.
After several years of farming, he purchased a school bus in 1952 and started hauling children to school. In 1969, he became the custodian for Jet-Nash Public Schools. Two years later, Billie joined him as they worked side by side until retirement in 1993. During his employment with Nash and Jet-Nash Public Schools, he positively impacted the lives of three generations of children, driving the route bus, activity bus and keeping the score books at the sporting events. He then went on to drive the school bus for Hillsdale Christian School for 11 years. After 50 years of driving the school bus, he was recognized by the state of Oklahoma for his dedication.
Bill was a member of First Baptist Church of Nash, where he served as deacon since 1951.
He proudly served on the Grant County Draft Board in the 1970s.
Bill was dearly loved by many and is survived by his wife, Billie of the home; three daughters, Deborah and Chuck Carson of Nash, Diana and Gary Madison of Fairfax, and Denise and Kevin Wilson of Edmond; his grandchildren, Shane and Amber Green of Jet, Brandi and Byron Dell of Nash, J.J. and Sarah Green of Nash, Kristel and Ryan Steel of Stillwater, Ryan Madison and Keli Mashburn of Fairfax, Casey and Mat Beartrack of Fairfax, Lance and Trista Madison of Fairfax, McCall Wilson of Edmond, and Graham Wilson of Edmond; his great-grandchildren, Brock, Braden and Braxton Buller of Jet, Chezney and Cade Dell of Nash, Natalee, Hesston and Paizley Green of Nash, Savannah Steele of Stillwater, and Cadence and Macey Beartrack of Fairfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harvey Dale Foster; and one sister, Doralee Crabtree.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church of Nash, Hospice Circle of Love or Nash Fire Department.

John William Taylor
Funeral service for John William Taylor, 85, Enid, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
John was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Enid and was the only child of William and Nellie Ratcliff Taylor and passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home.
After graduating from Enid High School in 1944, at the age of 16, he briefly attended Phillips University. Shortly thereafter, John enlisted in the Air Force because of his lifelong love of flying. He served as staff sergeant in Guam.
Prior to his deployment, he met and started courting his future wife, Sue Hackleman, of Stillwater, after meeting at the swimming pool in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. They married six years later on June 5, 1950, in Stillwater.
After being discharged, John attended Oklahoma A&M until he returned to Enid to help run the Enid Publishing Co., where he served as president and owner until 1989. He was owner of KCRC-KNID radio stations and Enid Two-Way. -
Glenn William 'Willie' Stephens II
Memorial service for Glenn William “Willie” Stephens II, 60, of Okeene, Okla., will be 2 p.m. today, June 18, 2013, at Central Christian Church, with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating.
Willie was born Aug. 23, 1952, in Enid, Okla., to Glenn Sr. and Vera Wilma Haskins Stephens and passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2013, in Okeene.
Survivors include his brothers, Bobby Stephens and wife Elaine of Kingfisher, and John David Stephens and wife Dodie of Enid; and sister, Lana Ellis and husband Mike of Edmond.
Willie was preceded in passing by his parents. -
Gloria Powell
Gloria Powell, 69, of Garber, Okla., was the daughter of Leon and Vada Jane (Wade) Stanfill. She was born May 10, 1944, in Gainesville, Texas, but was raised by H.H. “Tobe” Pruitt and his wife Vada.
Gloria went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid, Okla.
She graduated from Garber High School in 1962.
Gloria lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Texas, before returning to Garber, Okla., in 1984.
Gloria enjoyed her job. She went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, District 5, as a case manager in 1988, and retired in 2010, after 22 years of service.
She married her sweetheart, Keith E. Powell on July 15, 1989, in Garber, Okla.
Gloria took great pride in Garber, and was the mayor of Garber for one year. -
