Funeral service for Charles DeVerl Paris, 84, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
De was born in Dacoma, Okla., to Henry Paris and Mary Katherine Murrow and passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He attended Red Bird Rural Grade School in Dacoma and graduated from Alva High School.
De married Beulah Jane Venosdel Nov. 28, 1949, in Alva, where they made their home.
He worked at a grocery store in Alva before he served in the Armed Forces for two years at Fort Polk, La.
After returning to Alva, he continued to work in the grocery business.
In 1957, he moved with his wife and five children to Colorado Springs, where he began a lifetime career with Safeway stores. His wife died in December 1984.
In June 1986, he married Luana “Lu” Mahealani in Las Vegas, Nev., and he became father to four more children.
Around 1990, DeVerl retired from Safeway and worked various other jobs.
He and Luana moved to Enid in 1996, where he worked for the Enid News & Eagle for 14 years, retiring due to illness.
He enjoyed fishing and camping at various lakes in Oklahoma and Colorado. He also enjoyed traveling the world with Lu, but his biggest enjoyment in life was his family.
Surviving are his wife, Luana of Enid; sons, Walter “Sonny” Paris and wife Wanda of Conroe, Texas, and Donald Kane of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Theresa McClure and husband David of Colorado Springs, Colo., Clara Jean Eisenreich and husband Richard of Colorado Springs, Jackie Lynn Todd and Scott Hotchkiss, both of Colorado Springs, Laura May Talaroc and husband Daniel of Waialua, Hawaii, Betty Mae Leslie and husband Keck of Wichita, Kan., Vickie Ford and husband Billy of Midland, Texas, Janie Paris of Bartlesville, and Deborah Hobdy of Colorado Springs; sister, Bertha Frances Garberich of Enid; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beulah Jane; infant son and daughter, Dee Verl, four brothers and three sisters.

Earl Herman Rivenburg
Service for Mr. Earl Herman Rivenburg, 82, of Gilmer, Texas, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Pastor Kerry Roy officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, May 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
Mr. Rivenburg passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Wesley Oaks Memory Care Center in Sulphur Springs, Texas, from complications of pneumonia.
He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Peabody, Kan., to Hugh and Elizabeth Rivenburg.
Earl was their fifth and final child, as his mother died shortly after his birth. He was given to a hired hand and his wife to raise and unfortunately, his was not a happy childhood.
At an early age, he set out on his own and was taken in by Emma Seifert as a farmhand in Carrier, Okla., where he graduated from high school in 1948. It was here that he met and married his first wife, who bore his two children. -
Mary Frances Whitfill
Graveside service for Mary Frances Whitfill, 97, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. Rev. Suzie Goldt will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Mary was born May 27, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo., to William Edward and Mary Etta (Paradise) Major and passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at The Commons in Enid, Okla.
She grew up in Kansas City, Mo., graduating from Central High School in 1932.
She married her high school sweetheart, Elton Whitfill, on June 8, 1935, and celebrated 72 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson. -
Scott Swan
Graveside service for Scott Swan, 49, former Seiling resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Brumfield Cemetery, near Seiling. Service is directed by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
He died Monday, April 15, 2013, in Houston, Texas.
He worked as a field service engineer for General Electric in Oklahoma City, Enid, and Houston. -

Lisa was born July 9, 1960, in Clinton, Okla., to Thomas Francis Lee and Maymie Limpy and died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Sparks Hospital, Fort Smith, Ark.
Lisa graduated from high school in Eufaula, Okla. She was a homemaker for her family. -
