A spirit of past, present, future

Community service thrives in Enid area

— A sense of community, of helping neighbors and building a place to live not only for oneself but generations to come: That is how Enid began and why it continues and will prosper into the future.

Community service is evident on many fronts in the city, from organizations that give of time and money to individuals who make a difference every day in the lives of those they meet.

The service provided can save lives or simply illustrate a pride in community. The birthright of northwest Oklahoma is its pioneering spirit, and it shows in its people, who are not afraid to lend a helping hand in time of need.

Those people go beyond the pages of this section, but a few are recognized inside here for the service they do. Residents of Enid and northwest Oklahoma should be proud of their service, which no doubt will continue to be a hallmark of the region and a picture of pride.
