Atkinson joins KJ Productions
Cody Atkinson has joined KJ Productions as a photographer/editor.
He recently moved to Enid from Kansas, where he worked as a photographer/editor at a television station.
“Because our sales have grown by 37 percent last year, we are continually adding to our production department,” said Jack Quirk, KJ Productions CEO. “Cody is an excellent addition to our team.”
KJ will be adding additional team members throughout the year to keep up with demand in national productions, Quirk said.
KJ Productions is an award-winning video production company with three divisions: cable/broadcast, producing television commercials; corporate production, producing safety, training and marketing videos on a national level; and a duplication division producing DVD, CD and VHS copies and packaging.
Part of this growth is attributed to the addition of authorized sales offices in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas and Stillwater. KJ’s corporate office is in Enid.
Smith earns Executive Club Award
Larry Smith, a broker with RE/MAX Premier, Realtors, has been awarded the Executive Club Award by the RE/MAX mid-states region. The award represents gross income for 2005.
Smith has been in the real estate business more than 25 years, joining RE/MAX in 2000. He has served on the board of directors and the Professional Standards and Code of Ethics committees for Enid Metro Association of Realtors. He also has served as chairman of the Realtors golf tournament.
Longpine chosen Kmart’s full-time Associate of the Month for January
Cheryl Longpine has been chosen Kmart’s full-time Associate of the Month for January. Longpine has worked for Kmart 15 years and is a lead associate in ladies wear. Longpine also has worked as a softlines customer service associate.
Longpine’s co-workers nominated her for the award and said she always is there to help others and gives excellent customer service.
Gary Washburn has been chosen Kmart’s part-time Associate of the Month for January. Washburn has worked for Kmart two months and is a customer service associate. His co-workers nominated him for the award and said Washburn is a team player and gives great customer service.
Coppock is named Security National Bank Employee of the Month for February
Dywan Coppock has been named Security National Bank Employee of the Month for February.
Coppock has been with SNB since 1992 when she was hired as a part-time teller. Since that time, she has held several positions within the organization, including teller, ATM teller, assistant loan secretary and bookkeeping.
Coppock currently is overdraft privilege administrator as well as ACH/wire transfer clerk.
“Dywan continues to accept new responsibilities for large programs within the bank,” said President Brad Blankenship. “She is precise and dedicated to her work, which is extremely important to us. She is very deserving of this recognition.”
Coppock is a graduate of Enid High School and holds a degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Coppock is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Lt. Frech named Correctional Officer Supervisor of the Year for 2005
Lt. Don Leon Frech, correctional security manager I at James Crabtree Correctional Center in Helena, has been named Correctional Officer Supervisor of the Year for 2005 by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Frech began his career with DOC at Crabtree in 1988. In addition to his current position, he has been a correctional officer, sergeant and correctional counselor. He is a firearms instructor and had been a sniper at Crabtree.
According to his supervisors, “Frech leads by example and strives to develop staff to their full potential.”
Outside the prison, he serves as fire chief of Helena Fire Department and is an EMT with Helena Ambulance Service. He also is a reserve police officer for the city of Fairview.
Enid CPA firm completes peer review
CPA firm Collins, Butler & Co. P.C., has completed a peer review of its accounting and auditing practices, confirming the firm complies with the quality control standards set by American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
As part of AICPA’s Peer Review Program, Collins, Butler & Co. undergoes an independent review of its accounting and auditing practices every three years. The review was conducted by an independent CPA firm qualified by AICPA.
Collins, Butler & Co. serves businesses, individuals and nonprofit organizations throughout Enid and northwest Oklahoma. The firm provides accounting, tax, estate planning and consulting services.
Pioneer Cellular continues expansion of service in four state counties
KINGFISHER — Pioneer Cellular, based in Kingfisher, Enid and Woodward has expanded service in four counties in western Oklahoma: Beckham, Dewey, Roger Mills and Custer. These counties are included in the third of an eight-phase project to increase wireless coverage utilizing Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) throughout western Oklahoma and southern Kansas, which is the result of recently acquired spectrum. Wireless products and services will be available at all Pioneer offices, including Thomas, Seiling, Shattuck and Woodward.
These first three phases expanded coverage in 18 counties in southwestern Oklahoma. Upon completion of all eight phases, Pioneer will be capable of offering a full scale of wireless services to all of its members throughout western Oklahoma.

Dr. Thomas celebrates opening of new state-of-the-art dental office Feb. 23
Dr. Gregory Thomas celebrated the opening of his new state-of-the art dental office with the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce and their ribbon-cutting ceremony Feb. 23.
Dr. Thomas has been in practice seeing children and adults for 23 years. His practice is located at 2411 Heritage Trail.
The office offers patients an expanded sterilization center, monitors on each chair to view X-rays, cable TV and dental health cartoon for children.
Also present is the Cerec treatment center, where a crown can be a one-step visit rather than several steps.
