St. Matthew’s sets schedule

of events for December



St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 518 W. Randolph, will hold an Advent Family Event at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Advent lessons and carols also will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 13, presented by the Oklaholma City University Master Choral. A reception will follow.

Centering prayer then will be 4 p.m. Dec. 20, followed by the family program Walking Together to the Nativity from 5-8 p.m. and live music at 6.

The church will have a time of carols at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 24 with midnight Mass at 11 followed by a reception.



Winter Festival slated for Sunday



Women’s Group of Community Bible Church, Lahoma, will sponsor a Winter Festival following the morning service on Sunday.

Menu will include baked potatoes with all the fixings, salads and desserts. An auction, crafts and drawing for a quilt made by the ladies group will follow. Cost is by donation. Proceeds will be used for group projects.

The church is located two miles east of Lahoma on U.S. 412 and one-half mile south.



Benefit concert on tap today



The Robert Stewart Family will perform traditional Christmas music at 7:30 p.m. today at Your Family Church, 1301 N. Independence, as a benefit concert for Galilean Children’s Home, which provides a place for the handicapped as well as children whose mothers are in prison. Admission is free but donations will be accepted.
