Church briefs for 11/13/09


Mission Fair this weekend at Central Christian



Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway, is sponsoring a “Mission Fair” 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the church.

Gifts supporting a variety of local and international missions may be purchased, such as a goat or 50 chickens for a family in the Congo or Vietnam.

A meal also can be purchased for the hungry in Enid through Food 4 Kids or Horn of Plenty.

Cedar Ridge to host revival



Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church, 5101 W. Randolph, will host a revival at 7 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday with Jay Friedman, pastor of New Life Wesleyan of Copan, leading.

Friedman, who was born in New Jersey, worked in retail management for more than 25 years. He also spent nine years in the Army, serving as a medic and weapons specialist.

Friedman accepted Christ at age 36, and at age 44, he returned to school and was ordained July 7, 2004. He moved to Copan from Tuscon, Ariz., and held his first church service in September 2004.



Bazaar slated Nov. 20 at Billings Christian Church



Billings Christian Church will hold its annual bazaar Nov. 20 in the church fellowship hall. The bazaar will begin at 10 a.m. and everyone is welcome.

Lunch will be served with choices of chicken and noodles, chili and stew.

The meal will include hot rolls, dessert and drink. Baked goods and other items will be available for sale.

Also, chances are being sold for a snowman that has been donated by Janna Parrish. The snowman is on display at First Bank and Trust in Billings and chances are $1 each.



‘Old-Fashioned Sunday’ slated Nov. 22 at Bethel



Bethel Baptist Church, 901 S. Cleveland, will host an “Old-Fashioned Sunday” 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 22.

Folks are invited to wear old-fashioned clothes for an old-fashioned message, eat chili for lunch, ride buggies and attend fellowship and singing.
