Bethel Hawley Baptist to host VBS next week



Bethel Hawley Baptist Church, located four miles south of U.S. 132 and Oklahoma 11, then one mile east, has announced the “Boomerang Express” train will be leaving for Australia and the land Down Under for a week during this summer’s Vacation Bible School. VBS is 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for children of all ages. Supper will be served 5:15-5:45 p.m. nightly. For information, call the church at (580) 839-2480.







George to speak at Evangel



Enid Evangel Assembly of God Church, 2717 W. Broadway, will host evangelist Rod George at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.

George is an ordained Assemblies of God minister who began ministering at age 17. He was raised with a Pentecostal heritage and began his preaching career while he was still in high school.

He and his wife, Debi, have served as evangelists, youth pastors, associate pastors and senior pastors since 1976. They have two children, Wesley and Jennifer, who also are actively involved in the ministry.







Franz Family to be in concert



The Franz Family will be in concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church, 2500 N. Van Buren.

The Franz Family grew up on the stage of Branson, Mo., and have been ministering in song since 1991. Their roots are dipped in bluegrass and have expanded their style with a touch of jazzy blues and acoustic pop. They have toured the United States and Canada.

Vance chaplain to speak at Calvary Baptist Sunday



Major Donald W.A. Bretz, chaplain for 71st Flying Training Wing at Vance Air Force Base, will conduct a July Fourth service celebration at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, 831 E. Broadway.

Bretz is endorsed by the Episcopal Church and leads the Vance Chapel staff in ministering at Vance.

He was commissioned as a chaplain in 1998 and has served as a protestant chaplain, installation chaplain, senior ministries chaplain and senior protestant chaplain. Originally commissioned through Army ROTC, he entered active duty in 1979 as an Army Medical Service Corps officer and earned the Expert Field Medical Badge and Basic Parachutist Badge. He attended seminary from 1985 to 1988 in the Army Reserve. After 10 years of parish ministry, Bretz returned to active duty as an Air Force chaplain. He has served in Turkey and Iraq.







Willow Road to host VBS



Willow Road Christian Church, 729 W. Willow, will hold Vacation Bible School 6-8:45 p.m. July 13-17 for ages 4 through sixth-graders.

The theme is “Gospel Light’s Kingdom of the Son: A Prayer Safari.” Children may be pre-registered at the church or by calling 234-2119. A light supper will be provided.







Camp meeting slated nightly next week at House of Prayer



The House of Prayer, 1402 N. 10th Street, will hold camp meeting at 7 nightly Monday through Friday. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Ronald Eugene Johns of Kentucky.







‘Call 2 Fall’ set for Sunday



Pastor Darrel Kostka and Destiny Christian Fellowship, 226 W. Broadway, will host “Call 2 Fall: Day of Prayer and Declaration of Dependence on God” at 10 a.m. Sunday as part of a national event.
