Mickey Mantle’s first cousin will be interviewed

at Liberty Southern Baptist Sunday service



Pastor Jerry Holt of Liberty Southern Baptist Church will interview Mickey Mantle’s first cousin, Jim Richardson, at the 11 a.m. service Sunday, April 29, 2012.

Jim will share Mickey’s conversion experience and how Christ has led his life.

Liberty Southern Baptist Church is located at 1616 S. Jackson.



Chancel Hand Bell Choir to hold spring concert



The Chancel Hand Bell Choir will present its spring concert “Spring Ring Fling” 4 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 401 W. Randolph.

The program will include old-time favorites such as “I’ve Got the Joy Down in my Heart,” “When We all Get to Heaven,” and “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho.”

Also included will be contemporary selections like “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” as well as a couple of unexpected surprises, and a Swahili blessing.

The Hand Bell Choir is under the direction of Andrew Kraft. Members include Martha Hodgen, Paula Miller, Linda Kraft, Lois Fox, Patty Matthews, Suzie Skaggs, Beth Murphy, Nita Atnip, Sharon Karns and Bobbie Mardis.

The concert is free and open to the public.
