Anderson-Burris earns funeral directors award

ENID, Okla. — National Funeral Directors Association recently honored Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory of Enid with its most prestigious recognition, the 2012 Pursuit of Excellence Award.

To earn this award, Anderson-Burris had to demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional service to grieving families and giving back to the community through unique outreach programs, while adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards. Only 164 firms in the world earned this award, placing the Enid funeral home among the top 2 percent of funeral service providers in the world.

The award was presented to Richard and Monte Burris at the NFDA International Convention and Expo in Charlotte, N.C. This is the second year in a row Anderson-Burris Funeral Home has earned this prestigious award.

To earn the NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award, a participating funeral home must meet or exceed business standards set forth by the program and demonstrate proficiency in key areas of funeral service such as: providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff; offering outstanding programs and resources to bereaved families; maintaining an active level of involvement within the community; participating and actively serving in the funeral service profession; and promoting funeral home services through a variety of marketing, advertising and public relations programs. Participants are also required to adhere to a Pledge of Ethical Practices.
