Willeford completes financial course



Marina Willeford has successfully completed the Foundations in Financial Planning course offered by the College for Financial Planning.

This academic achievement will allow Willeford to become a registered para-planner after completion of the internship.

Course topics include the financial planning process; financial statements and cash flow management; the time value of money; investment principles and mutual funds; equities and debt instruments; tax planning; retirement planning; introduction to insurance; life and health insurance; and estate planning.

Willeford, who has more than 21⁄2 years as a branch professional administrative assistant, said she is looking forward to increasing her knowledge in all areas of comprehensive financial planning.

“Marina has followed up on every detail,” said Doug Hawkins, attorney at law, who taught the course. “She is spiritually minded, family oriented and professionally responsible. She completed the para-planner course offered by the College of Financial Planning in a very timely manner and quickly passed the college’s certification exam.”



Redelsperger attends conference



Jon Redelsperger of the Enid office of BKD CPAs & Advisors recently attended the firm’s Financial Services industry conference in St. Louis, Mo. Some of the topics discussed were the future of community banks, executive compensation and an update on regulatory issues.

BKD and its subsidiaries offer clients a variety of services in accounting, audit and assurance, tax, risk management, technology, corporate finance, forensic and valuation services and wealth management.



CNB hires Simunek



Central National Bank has announced it recently hired Matt Simunek as assistant vice president agricultural lending.

Simunek graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in agriculture business and a minor in finance. He lives in Hennessey.

“Matt interned for us while he was in college. We are incredibly fortunate to have him come to work for us full time. He is going to make great lender,” said Lawrence Yunker, the bank’s senior vice president.



Perez-Whiteside earns award



Cathy Perez-Whiteside of Century 21 Homes Plus has earned the Quality Service Pinnacle Producer Award.

According to a press release from Century 21 Homes Plus, the award recognizes Perez-Whiteside’s dedication to making each and every client interaction a positive one.

She has been the recipient of the award since 2004.
