Mackie, 91

June Mackie will celebrate her 91st birthday with family. Cards may be sent to Mr. Bert Mackie, 3218 Neilson Drive, Enid, OK 73703.

June was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Thomas and Goldie Schindorff.

On October 17, 1940, she married Harold Mackie in Wilburton, Kan. To this union, four children were born.

June was blessed with an extraordinary God-given talent in the culinary arena. Eating was always a social event at the Mackie house. June enjoyed entertaining and everyone knew they were always welcome at her dining room table. She loved to feed people. June would bless people with her talents of cakes, pies, cookies, delicious meals, etc.

June never meets a stranger. Everyone who meets her, loves her instantly. She has been an active member of Ames Christian Church, Ames Women’s Auxilary Organization, Happy Home Extension Club and Wheatheart Nutrition program. June also volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.

Her children are Bert Mackie and wife Janice; Beverly Bierig and husband Joe Lee; Bob Mackie and wife Tommie; and Jack Mackie and wife Jacki. She has 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

 

Conrady, 80

Leota Conrady will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Wakita Catholic Hall. Cards may be sent to 1168 Pine St., Wakita, OK 73711. She request no gifts.

Leota was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Bluff City, Kan., the daughter of Fred and Mollie Burlie.

She is a 1950 graduate of Wakita High School.

Leota married Edwin Conrady Feb. 3, 1951, at the Catholic church in Manchester.

She is a homemaker and member of Wakita Catholic Church.

Her children are Terry Conrady, Enid; Rickie Conrady and Lori Stevens, both of Edmond; and Keith Conrady, Augusta, Kan. She has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
