ENID, Okla. —
Family members and friends of Ottis (Cone) Cornelsen will join her in celebrating her 100th birthday at a come-and-go celebration 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at the Central Christian Church, 1111 West Broadway in Enid. Cards may be sent to 1600 West Willow, No. 318, Enid, OK 73703.
Ottis L. (Cone) Cornelsen was born Jan. 10, 1913, near Dombey, Okla., in Beaver County.
Her family moved from the Oklahoma Panhandle area to Enid around 1928. She attended Longfellow Junior High School and was a 1931 graduate of Enid High School.
She and Abe C. Cornelsen were married May 14, 1933. They celebrated their 65th anniversary prior to his death in 1999.
Ottis worked many years for the city of Enid in the code administration office of the engineering division before she retired in 1978.
She has been a member of the Eastern Star organization for more than 65 years, and served 25 years as secretary of the local chapter. She also served for more than 25 years as treasurer for Enid Mobile Meals.
