ENID — Arnold Gerken will celebrate his 90th birthday with a reception and dance for family and friends, hosted by his children, on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. Cards may be sent to 9808 Fox Dr., Fairmont, OK 73736.

Arnold was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Fairmont, Okla., to Peter and Emma Gerken.

He married Adelee Meier Sept. 8, 1942, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific from 1942-1946.

Arnold has farmed in the Fairmont area. He loves to hunt and fish. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont.

His children are Dennis Gerken and wife Barbara of Fairmont, and Dian Stringer and husband Mike of Kansas City, Mo. He has eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
