Brunken, 95

Erna Brunken will celebrate her 95th birthday with a family dinner Sunday. Cards may be sent to 15725 E. Breckinridge Road, Garber, OK 73738.

She was born Sept. 22, 1914, west of Kremlin the daughter of George and Minnie Reim.

She is a 1932 graduate of Pond Creek High School.

She married Arnold Brunken July 22, 1938. She has been a part of a farming family for 70 years. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber.

Her children are Sandra Williams, Enid, and Lin and Sue Brunken, Garber. She has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.



Kubat, 98

Mary Ann Kubat celebrated her 98th birthday Friday. Cards may be sent to 6501 N. McArthur, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.

She was born Sept. 18, 1911, on a farm east of Okeene the daughter of J.H. and Antoinette Kubat. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and then graduated as a registered nurse from nurse’s training at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kan., in 1933.

She now lives at Warr Acres Nursing Home.

She has several nieces and nephews in the area.



Mewherter, 88

Marjory Mewherter will celebrate her 88th birthday with a come-and-go reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at The Commons. Cards may be sent to 3706 King St., Apt. 1004, Enid, OK 73703.

She was born Sept. 21, 1921, on a farm near Mulhall the daughter of Lou and Rutha Thompson McNeill. She graduated from Mulhall High School in 1938. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a lifetime teaching certificate. She started her career teaching all eight grades in a one-room rural school in Logan County. She taught at Elkhorn, Mount Zion, Big Four, Hayward, Hunter and Hennessey, retiring in 1982 after 30 years.

She married Glen Jordan in 1943. They farmed and ranched near Marshall. He died in 1975. She then married Allen Mewherter, a farmer and rancher from Marshall. Following retirement, they lived on a ranch near Mena, Ark. He died in 1989.

Her children are Maxine and Jim Shepard, Enid, and Larry and Pauline Jordan, Beggs. She has three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.



Parker, 90

Neal C. Parker will celebrate his 90th birthday with a reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. today in the Great Room at Fairview Fellowship Home. Cards may be sent to HC 60, Box 70, Fairview, OK 73737.

He was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Major County the son of Nelson and Emma Crump Parker.

He has farmed in Major County his whole life.



Aebi, 90

Docie Aebi will celebrate her 90th birthday Sept. 26 at the home of Steven and Glenda Aebi. Cards may be sent to 6302 Breckinridge Road, Enid, OK 73701.

She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Billings the daughter of Walter and Jennie Pruitt.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1938.

She married Ralph Aebi Nov. 7, 1948. She worked at SH Kress as a supervisor and at Gritz Jewelry. She later volunteered as a nurse aide at various local hospitals and also worked at Enid State School. She is a member of Nash Christian Church, Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and Pond Creek Rebecca Lodge. She volunteered many years at Our Daily Bread.

Her children are Harold and Linda Aebi, Pond Creek; Jerry and Debbie Aebi of Yukon; and Steven and Glenda Aebi, Enid. She has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
