Jimmie was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Agra, Okla., the son of Buel and Mable Powell.
He is a 1945 graduate of Enid High School and attended Phillips University.
He married Donna Strickland Aug. 6, 1949, in Enid.
He retired from Union Equity Coop Exchange after 45 years as manager of warehouse regulations.
He served in the Army Air Force from 1946 to 1947 with the 13th Air Force in the South Pacific.
He is an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church and a charter member of North Enid Lions Club.
His children are Debra and Jackie Wayman, Goltry; Christa and John Ringwald, Georgetown, Texas; and Sara and Jay Black, Enid. He has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
