Hammer, 98

Lucille Hammer, formerly of Ames, will celebrate her 98th birthday with family. Cards may be sent to Greenbrier Nursing Home, 1119 E. Garriott, Enid, OK 73701.

Lucille was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Lacy, the daughter of Ira and Alice Choate.

She is a graduate of Ringwood High School.

She married the late Harvey Hammer in 1930 in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and owned and operated a grocery store in Ames for five years. She is a member of Ames Christian Church.

Her children are Jack D. Hammer and wife Teresa of Enid, the late Bob Hammer and the late Benny Hammer. She has seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.



Thesman, 86

Leora (Rempel) Thesman will celebrate her 86th birthday Saturday. Cards may be sent to 5801 N. Oakwood Road, C-301, Enid, OK 73703.

Leora was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Colony, the daughter of George and Mary Rempel.

She is a 1945 graduate of Kremlin High School. She attended Emerson Junior High in Enid.

She married Jake Thesman Aug. 26, 1948, and is a member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.

She worked for the county treasurer’s office at the Enid courthouse for 18 years.

Her children are Robert “Bob” Thesman, Shawnee, Kan.; Jolita “Jodi” Gossen, Kremlin; and Debra “Debbie” Wright, Riverside, Calif. She has six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
