Emil “Shorty” Pecha will celebrate his 91st birthday with a reception for family and friends 3-6 p.m. today a Bob’s Bar & Grill, Lahoma.

He was born March 15, 1922, in Goltry to Gus and Mary Pecha.

He attended rural Goltry schools.

He and his wife, Betty, were married Sept. 25, 1953. She is deceased.

He is a farmer and served in the Army on Okinawa during World War II.

He is a member of the Catholic church.

His children are Bill “Harry” Pecha, Horton, Kan.; Patty Pecha-Weber and Randy Pecha, both of Goltry; and the late Emil Jr. “Butch” Pecha, John Atherton and Delayne Atherton. He has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
