Buchanan, 90

ENID, Okla. — Kenneth Buchanan celebrated his 90th birthday with family Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at home after a fishing trip to Lake Texoma. Cards may be sent to 2825 West Elm, Enid, OK 73703.

Kenneth was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Perryton, Texas, the son of Ren D. and Alice Buchanan.

He graduated an honored athlete in 1941 from Enid High School. He then attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) on a basketball scholarship.

Kenneth married Glenna Wampler Feb. 6, 1943. They had been married 62 years at her death in October 2005.

He was co-owner of the Tia Juana restaurant from Nov. 21, 1945, working as manager and cook until he retired Sept. 28, 2012.

He served in the Air Force as a pilot.

His children are Jeanette “Jenny” Ekstrom; the late Glen Buchanan and wife Judy; and Barbara Marshall and husband Marvin. He has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
