C. Marvin Wedel will celebrate his 100th birthday with a reception for family and friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Simpsons Old Time Museum.
Marvin was born July 25, 1912, in Halstad, Kan., the son of J.T. and Eva Wedel.
He is a 1931 graduate of Goltry High School.
He married Sophia Becker in March 1933. She died in 2002.
He farmed until 1950, when he became a carpenter for various contractors in Enid. He is a member of First Baptist Church.
His children are Bill and Jan Wedel, Salinas, Calif.; Charles and Carol Wedel, Waukomis; Larry and Marsha Wedel, North Las Vegas, Nev.; and Richard and Sue Wedel, Garfield, Ark. He has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
