NWOSU-Enid to air panel session on state

Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid is one of three Oklahoma universities broadcasting Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum’s kickoff event for Oklahoma Institute — its new adult education program.

Oklahoma Institute, a program of the Oklahoma City museum, will provide interactive experiences focusing on the state’s history and future and the people who have helped shape the state. The institute’s programming is geared toward an adult audience, from young professionals to community leaders.

An interactive panel session, “Public Service in Oklahoma: A Panel on Championing Community Engagement,” will be Oct. 14 and feature Clayton I. Bennett, president of Dorchester Capital, a diversified, private investment company, chairman of Professional Basketball Club and owner of Oklahoma City’s new NBA franchise; Kathy Taylor, Tulsa mayor; and John Tyler Hammons, Muskogee mayor and one of the youngest mayors elected in U.S. history.

Local sponsors mean Enid participants can view the broadcast at no charge. The panel will be broadcast 3:30-5 p.m. via interactive television to Studio 220 at NWOSU-Enid, 2929 E. Randolph. Reservations and questions should be directed to Cheryl Evans, Enid campus dean, at 213-3105 or clevans@nwosu. edu.

Moderator Renzi Stone will present questions from the live audience, at Oklahoma City University’s Kerr McGee Auditorium, and three satellite locations to the panelists, giving participants.

Those wanting to purchase tickets to the live event in Oklahoma City can contact Corie Baker at (405) 523-3212 or clb@oklahoma heritage.com.
