McNeal-Cox
Thirty-three descendants attended the annual McNeal-Cox family reunion Oct. 13 in Glencoe at the home of Rick and Shirley McGuar.
Special gifts were given to Charles Bezdicek, 83, of Perry, for being the oldest man present and Ruby Belle McNeal Gleason, 88, of Perry, for being the oldest woman.
The youngest present was Sarah Kirkpatrick, 3, daughter of Rich and Pam Kirkpatrick of Tulsa. Traveling the farthest was Don and Dee Ann McNeal Quarles of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Gerald and Carol McGuar of San Antonio, Texas.
Special recognition went to Virginia McNeal Norros of Enid with the most family members present, totaling 11.
Following lunch and a business meeting, an auction of donated items was held. A hand-stitched quilt made by Ruby Belle McNeal Gleason was won by Dee Ann Quarles.
New officers for 2008 are Don McGuar, chairperson, and Dee Ann Quarles, secretary/treasurer.
The next reunion will be held at the home of Don and Dee Ann Quarles in Hominy. The date is to be announced.
