Moneypenny-50th

Roy Moneypenny wed Gerry Pierce Sept. 27, 1956, in Seminole. The Rev. Cagle Graves officiated.
He served in the Army, stationed in Lombard, Ill., and returned to Seminole in 1959. He worked for Redco Gas as a welder for 13 years and then moved the family to Fairview in 1972. There he was the maintenance superintendent for 29 years for Texas Oil and Gas. He then did consultant work until his retirement in 1999.
She worked at Wrangler Jean Co. in Seminole until the family moved to Fairview. There she worked at Martin’s IGA and Fairview Credit Bureau. She then co-owned and operated The Paint and Gift Shop until she retired.
They have been members of First Baptist Church since 1972. He is active in Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief. She has been a member of Fairview Mother’s Club since 1978 and served as state president 1996 to 1997. She also has played on bowling leagues for 26 years.
Their children are Debbie Moneypenny, Enid; Nita Moneypenny, Fairview; and Dewayne Moneypenny, Oklahoma City. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
