Miss Northwestern Pageant set for Saturday



Miss Northwestern Pageant is 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Herod Hall Auditorium at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva.

This year’s contestants are Alyson Billey, Sayre sophomore; Elizabeth Harris, Seiling sophomore; Taryn Evans, Beaver sophomore; Hillary Nida, Alva sophomore; and Danielle Greer, Enid sophomore.

The contestants will seek the title currently held by Savannah White, a junior from Alva, and the right to represent Northwestern in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant later this year.

Tickets for the event are $6 if purchased in advance and $8 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling Misti Knopf, pageant director, at (580) 327-8194, or by contacting a Miss Northwestern contestant. Northwestern students will be admitted free with a current student ID.





Pioneer parents to meet Sunday



Pioneer Parents for a Safe Prom Party will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday in the grade school cafeteria. All parents of juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend.





Enid Panhellenic to acquaint girls with rush



Enid Panhellenic group is planning an informational program to acquaint Enid and area girls and their mothers with the college recruitment (rush) process at 2 p.m. March 5 in the fellowship hall, which is downstairs in First Presbyterian Church, 502 W. Maine.

All Enid and area senior girls in high school and their mothers who are considering participation in rush at in-state or out-of-state colleges during the 2006-07 school year are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The program is hosted by the Enid Panhellenic group and most of the alumni chapters will be represented. There will be an informal presentation of recruitment information followed by a question and answer period. Girls who are unable to attend can receive information and the necessary forms by calling Barbie Henson at 242-5992.
