Carter-50th
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carter celebrated their 50th anniversary in August with a trip to Alaska. They will renew their vows at a reception for family and friends at 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at First Baptist Church, Covington. They request no gifts. Cards may be sent to P.O. Box 266, Covington, OK 73730.
Melvin Carter and Jodene Poarch were married Nov. 27, 1959, at First Baptist Church, Watonga.
He retired from Charles Machine Works, Perry, after 21 years. He belongs to the Special T’s Model T Club. She worked 20 years part-time for Weight Watchers.
They are members of First Baptist Church, Covington.
Their children are Jon Carter, Dublin, Ohio, and the late Debbie Jones. They have six grandchildren.
