Mr. and Mrs. Meigs (Ox) Gibbons celebrated their 65th anniversary Dec. 31, 2011, in Wakita.
Meigs “Ox” Gibbons and Deanie Horning were married west of Wakita in 1946 at the home of her parents, Chuck and Wilda Horning, following his discharge from the Navy during World War II.
Ox worked as an oil pumper and carpenter until his retirement.
Deanie worked in insurance and was assistant administrator at Wakita CHC until she retired.
They have lived in Wakita all their lives and are members of Wakita Christian Church.
Their children are Chris Gibbons and wife Diane of Evergreen, Colo., and Peggy Feist and husband Gary of Wakita. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
