Enid News & Eagle
Enid News & Eagle is the dominant news and marketing source for northwest Oklahoma. A seven-day, morning newspaper, the News & Eagle serves more than 14,000 readers daily and more than 15,000 on Sundays with its print edition. The digital reach of the News & Eagle takes those numbers much higher. The primary coverage area is all of Garfield, Major, Alfalfa, Woods and Grant counties, plus parts of Kingfisher, Logan, Noble, Blaine and Woodward counties.
The News & Eagle is invited into 68 percent of all Enid households weekdays, 71 percent on Sundays. That's great penetration! Plus, northwest Oklahomans are intense newspaper readers — more likely than other Americans to read the newspaper on any day of the week, especially Saturdays and Sundays.
Enid is a diverse community with an economy driven by military pilot training, health care, agriculture, energy, light industry, food processing, two strong hospitals and two college campuses. The 9,000-seat Expo Center draws state and regional conferences and entertainment and host professional and semi-pro sports teams.
In addition to the daily newspaper, the News & Eagle staff produces a weekly newspaper for Vance Air Force Base, a monthly Hispanic publication, a weekly Total Market Coverage publication, commercial printing and popular regional web sites.
News & Eagle is published by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. CNHI formed in 1997 and is based in Birmingham, Ala. The company publishes daily, weekly and semiweekly newspapers in more than 200 communities throughout the United States.
In early 2005, Oklahoma Press Association recognized Enid News & Eagle as the best larger-circulation daily newspaper in the state’s annual Better Newspaper Contest. The News & Eagle received special recognition for news coverage, community leadership, advertising, editorial comment, sports coverage, personal columns, sales promotions, photography and layout and design. The newspaper is annually recognized for outstanding coverage by newspaper groups and other regional groups.
